Did you know that cholesterol, a waxy substance produced by the liver and found in certain foods, is needed to make vitamin D, some hormones (including sex hormones), build cell walls and create bile salts that help you digest fat? Pretty crucial stuff.
Our livers come with feedback mechanisms that regulate cholesterol production in response to our dietary intake. When we eat more, it makes less, and vice-versa so at H&H we don’t mind eating our cholesterol. We just make sure that our meat, eggs and dairy are from a natural source so that we don’t eat all the rubbish that factory farmed animals are fed.
Cholesterol is not the bad guy it’s made out to be. If you find this hard to believe read more about why cholesterol is not to blame for heart disease: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/cholesterol/#ixzz1tfIRdgon
